On to the letter I- Where does your inspiration come from? My inspiration, like my writing, is all over the place. Life in general and how different people choose to live it, tends to inspire me most. It's capturing the simple, every day little things that I love. I've gone to places as lame and mundane as the grocery store and have somehow, come away totally inspired by someone or something! Of course, it never hurts to travel to far off, beautiful beaches in exotic places either :)
Here are just a few views I've drawn inspiration from!! What do you see? Wishing you all a very INSPIRING day, xo -Jaybird
*PS: I have to give photo cred and props to my daughter, Faith. She has an amazing eye and is a wonderful little photographer- unlike her mother, who tends to cut everybody's head off, lol.
Love the pics, the cardinal and the beach make me want to go paint.
ReplyDeleteOh I hope you do go paint! Post what you create, I'd love to see it Brandon!!
DeleteThose are great pictures! Mine always end up with a giant finger covering some portion of the picture. I'm not sure where the finger comes from...there's no way it's mine. No way.
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha! That stupid finger shows up in my pictures too. Funny how that happens!
DeleteOoh. Pretty. Well done, Faith.
ReplyDeleteThanks- I'll tell her you said that. She'll be thrilled.
DeleteYour daughter took those? Holy cows, from another head chopping, off center, forgot the dang batteries AGAIN sort of photographer...I am impressed!
ReplyDeleteI am the same way Elizabeth. Most of the time I'm worse than that though, I FORGET to even bring the dang camera!! LOL
DeleteShe did a nice job!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much EN! I will pass that along. It will make her day.
DeleteDefinitely some places from which to draw inspiration.
ReplyDeleteYou are surrounded by inspiration where you live- but I'm sure you still managed to find just the right spot to sit that's your favorite! (Most likely the beach I'm guessing, if I know you)
DeleteSo beautiful. Definitely inspiration worthy Jay.
ReplyDeleteHey Sheena! Thanks a bunch. Hope they inspire you! :)
DeleteYou and I probably draw our inspiration from the same source: seeing things in real life. I may not see the same things you do, but yeah, inspiration hits from viewing art, seeing buildings, or even looking and admiring beautiful people and things.
ReplyDeleteYES! That's exactly how I feel. And I hope you don't mind, but I gave you a little shout out in my J post. :)
DeleteBeautiful photos Jen, thanks for sharing. I especially like that massive house with the red roof. Now I'm wondering who lives there, and thinking of a dynasty of witches.
ReplyDeleteI mostly get inspired by other books, TV shows, video games or movies. I see something, think "Wow, this is cool. How can I put my own spin on it?"
Hey girl! Yes. That house is an estate down in Cape May where a very reclusive doctor lived with his elderly Aunt and Mother. The architecture is amazing inside and out. (Not as much over here as there is over by you) But I will take what I can get!! I could definitely see a dynasty of witches taking up residence there.
DeleteYou do a fabulous job of putting your own "spin" on things. I'm loving your theme and everything new and interesting you are coming up with- Can't wait to read your book!
I especially like the photos where it looks like stories lurk just beneath the surface. I think that keeping our eyes and ears open and not accepting things at face value, but digging deeper to explore the "what ifs" is key.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim- you make a really good observation and point. Things aren't always as they seem and so much more is going on- on so many different levels. I love looking at things like that.
DeleteThanks for commenting!!
Heads are optional!
ReplyDeleteThe one from the sky strikes me the most. Like viewing an alien world.
Alex- My picture taking license has been revoked! No one even hands me the stupid camera anymore. And I know enough not to take it, lol.
DeleteThe "alien" world was the volcanoe on the Big Island of Hawaii, taken from a helicopter. Of course, not by me. :)
The cardinal brings life into focus for me.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan- Obviously, I'm a bit partial to birds, he he he, but that cardinal was just brilliant! He stopped by early one morning, right outside my house and I begged my daughter to wake up and shoot that picture. He's a real little beauty right?
DeleteGreat pics and I can see how they're so inspiring. Your daughter has a great eye.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. My inspiration comes from different things I'll see during the day, and sometimes from dreams at night.

Mark- Yes, she inherited the "bird's eye view" that skipped me, lol.
DeleteJoyce-Dreams inspire me too! I've had a couple lately that really had me gripped. Thanks for commenting!
Nature is my first source of inspiration lately. :)
ReplyDeleteNature, always inspires me too. That's why I love to go hiking. Although, I haven't been able to lately, I'm hoping to make that happen again real soon.
DeleteLove the pics. Good job, Faith! I love the one looking up at the blue sky and clowds, because it makes me think of lying down on the grass, just watching the clowds blowing past. So soothing!
ReplyDeleteI love to look at the clouds, and try and guess what the different shapes could be. The girls and I play that little cloud game a lot. :)
DeleteGood job to Faith for the awesome pics!
ReplyDeleteNice post!
Jackie! Thanks so much, I'll have to tell her everyone is loving her photos. She will be thrilled.
DeleteI like the castle/tower type ones... set off some very romantic imagery. But all are great! I love getting flashes of inspiration!
ReplyDeleteCastles are the best! It's on my bucket list to head over (your way) to England and Scotland to see some really old castles. Not too many here in America, but I think I've seen almost all of them now.
Deletegreat pictures
ReplyDeleteThanks Adam!!
DeleteHi from A to Z! I can always count on nature for inspiration, especially from watching wildlife. It gives me a sense of peace, and peace of mind = productive writing time! New follower. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHi Dawn! Welcome to the Bird's Nest, I'm so happy to meet you. Thanks so much for the follow :)
DeleteNature and wildlife inspires me the most too. But I'm all about anything that helps inspire productive writing time, even if it's the garbage. LOL
These pictures are amazing! No wonder you're inspired by them. Your daughter is so talented. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Heath! Thanks so much. I'll have to tell Faith everyone is loving her pics. She doesn't believe it when I tell her. I don't count because I'm just her mom, who always tells her she's great :)
