The research shows one in ten women (12 per cent) find Wednesday the most
stressful day in a typical week. A quarter of women feel stressed several times a week - while one in five (19
per cent) admit they will work through Wednesday's lunch hour. The study, carried out by the tanning brand, St Tropez, revealed two thirds
experience a "slump in energy levels" mid-afternoon every Wednesday.
DUDE! I don't know about you but don't you think St. Tropez could put their time, energy and money into doing a more positive study? Dang. As if I don't have enough insecurities about how I look, now I won't want to leave the house on Wednesday, at all. Thanks a bunch!
Now, for better news. Do any of you know my friend Ash- Matic? He's just published his first novel- Infected Connection. And even though I am terrified of all things arachnid, I am all about promoting his work. Check out his website! It has lots of extras and FAQs and even a mobile version! Be sure to check out this trailer starring the man himself:
Did any of you read Ash's book yet? What do you think of this trailer? Good stuff, huh? And despite what that jacked up report says, so far I'm having a really great Wednesday. Wishing you all a non-ugly day!
Best of luck to Ash!
ReplyDeleteAt 3:30 today, I'm just going to head to bed. I'm feeling ugly enough already and it's not even noon.
This study is a crock. I can't believe the paper even printed it. Honestly, it was probably conducted by some angry man who got dumped by a beautiful girl at 3:30 on a Wednesday, lol.
DeleteI haven't read Infected Connection yet, but the trailer looks pretty cool. I'll have to put it on my TBR list :)
ReplyDeleteMeh, when have studies ever been 100% correct?
Have a good one! :)
Hi Mark- thanks! I always try to support my fellow bloggers, and Ash is a great guy.
DeleteI don't really believe that study- I've heard some pretty dumb stuff before. This one is up there in the top ten. :)
I'm goin to have to check Ash's book out!! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh and thanks for sharing that study Jaybird... *squints, purses lips* ...my brain is fried, I felt ugh-ish at 6am so at 3:30 I'm sure I'll be downright biotchy! I will make sure to cover all mirror's before then. Thanks, JUST THANKS! Lmao! ;)
YAY- go and check out Ash's book.
DeleteI really don't believe what this study says. If anything, they only thing they got right is that on Wednesdays, almost everyone is feeling a little tired.
Don't you go covering up any mirrors. I bet you look beautiful- every day of the week. :)
Haha - I don't doubt that. Wednesdays are the bane of my existence (but that's because we have stupid professional development meetings at that time on Wednesdays and I HATE them with a fiery passion.)
ReplyDeleteHope you are well!
Girlfriend! I have missed you. We are all well here. I have been thinking of you and your family, wondering how your mom is feeling?
DeleteBoo to professional development meetings! I really don't know what they are but just the name of them sounds dreadfully BORING. LOL. Wednesdays are a fun day over here, cause G'ma always visits. We all look forward to her coming over. She brings food, fun and helps me out with stuff around the house. Who could hate that? :)
I was recommended this web site by my cousin. I am not
ReplyDeletesure whether this post is written by him as nobody else know
such detailed about my problem. You're incredible! Thanks!
Feel free to visit my web-site :: coffee maker ratings
That is crazy!! I can think of so many better uses for that money!
ReplyDeleteFor sure! I think it's a crock-o-crap myself. I just had to laugh when I read it. Seriously, this is all you could find to do with your time and resources? Duh.
DeleteSpiders found where? This sounds like a zombie book staring insects. *Shivers* Great work Ash and you're looking good today Jaybird (at least I'll just assume you are).
ReplyDeleteYou're a doll Sheena! Thank you.
DeleteNo zombies. Just scary electronic spiders infecting our cell phones. That idea frightens me more than looking ugs at 3:30, that's for sure. LOL
I know Ash!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to ask my wife about that theory.
How am I not surprised, you know Ash? LOL You know everyone Alex!!
DeleteI highly doubt your wife will ever look ugly in any fashion, at any time of the day, ever, especially to you :)
Damn! And there was me thinking I looked great! I've nominated you for an award on my blog - sorry if you've already had it! http://excusemewhileinotethatdown.blogspot.co.uk/
ReplyDeleteHey Linda! Thank you so much for nominating me. That's so awesome. I really appreciate it.
DeleteDon't pay any attention to this study! Feeling great on the inside is the first step to looking great on the outside! And that's the truth. No study necessary :)
Thanks so much for sharing word about my book!
ReplyDeleteI wish many Hugh Jackmans upon you! (So to speak)
You are very welcome! And thanks wishing some HJ on me. Now, if I could only get a pass from The Husband...(j/k) :)
DeleteIt's exactly 3:00 PM here, right this minute. Thanks for the warning, I'll try to avoid the mirror. Actually I think I'll go to the pool. And, oh...um...I'll be leaving my cell phone behind. If I go check out Ash, is he gonna scare more carp out of me?
ReplyDeleteI think you can handle Ash's book. You are one tough blonde. Although, the thought of spiders in my cell phone really does freak me out if I think too long about it. Then again, whenever I think about spiders I get freaked out. You know I hate those stinking things.
DeleteYeah I did hear this the other day. Where do they get this stuff!? Mind you when I left school today around half three I did feel shattered so maybe it is true!
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne! How are you? Hope all is well with you. Don't listen to this study. I really think it's full of it. And what is the point of telling women this anyway? Just to make us feel bad about ourselves? My guess is it was done by some angry man, lol.
DeleteYeah you are probably right! I left you a Sunshine Award today on my blog to cheer us all up a bit!
DeleteThank you so much Suzanne! I really appreciate that- Thanks a bunch!!
DeleteWell, it's Wednesday today - I didn't look in the mirror at 3.30pm so I'm not sure how bad I looked. I did buy new shoes today though, and you can't feel ugly with new shoes!
ReplyDeleteNew shoes ALWAYS make me smile and when you are smiling, how can you not look beautiful!
DeleteI suppose they also tell us that a fake tan will cure this slump? It's just rubbish even if you go by their figures - if 12% say Wednesday is the most stressful then 88% don't think that.
ReplyDeleteStill good to know we all look fabulous for the other 6 1/2 days.
LOL, I have to agree Patsy! It is rubbish. Who doesn't look ugly with a fake, orange-ish looking skin that's supposed to look tan? It's so ridiculous!
DeleteNo wonder I had extra diet cokes today...I'm too tired. :) Great trailer...too scary for me, I think.
ReplyDeleteI'm always tired! No matter what I do, no matter how much sleep I get or how many B-12's I pop! It's the story of my life. I'm not going to add old and ugly to that. This study can stuff it :)
DeleteNormally I am a big chicken. But I have to support my bloggy friends. Hopefully, I won't get spidery nightmares from Ash's book. *Fingers crossed*
Yikes, I don't like spider like things.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe the study is true. I've seen women who look pretty any day at any time. (I have also seen the opposite, hahaha.) An honestly, every girl looks dashing with a smile on her face, regardless the hour.
Me either Al. I hate spiders, with a passion. But Ash's concept intrigues me as well as completely terrifies me, lol. There's not much I won't do to support my bloggy friends :)
DeleteThe ugliest women (to me) are the ones that are mean. I've encountered some gorgeous women who are so ugly on the inside, it completed negated their beauty.
And I agree, the smile is the prettiest accessory anyone can wear!!
Oh dear lord. I guess I'll pack some make-up with me on Wednesdays. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou, my friend, are adorable. No way you ever look bad, Wednesday or any other day!
DeleteAnd, man, I'm always packing make-up! I love it. I have one make-up kit that weighs almost as much as me, lol.
I already grabbed my copy but haven't read it yet. It's been put into my reading queue, which is much too long and allows me not enough time. But it's there and I'm stoked to read it. Also, that just seems like a study they should have kept to themselves. What possible benefit could they have from finding this out? "Oh, by the way, ladies, around 3:30 in the afternoon on Wednesday you look like your grandmother. But every other time you look fairly tolerable."
ReplyDeleteYAY! I haven't had the chance to read it yet. It's in my TBR pile too. Which is really long and is the primary reason why my house is such a damn mess. I should be cleaning, but instead I'm sneaking off to read.
DeleteSeriously, whoever did write up this study is one straight up jack-hole. Really, what good could possibly come from telling women they are going to look bad on a Wednesday?
Big Congrats today to you for making 300 posts! (And getting all of your books into the indie stores! Makes me wish I lived closer so I could go and check them out!)
I have an energy slump pretty much every afternoon. Does that mean I'm ugly every day? Yeesh.
ReplyDeleteI bought Ash's book and have started reading it. It's great! Very suspenseful.
No way you are ugly.
DeleteI can't wait to read Ash's book. MY TBR pile is up to ceiling so it may be a little while before I get to it, lol.
That's an interesting study. Wednesdays do sometimes get me down. Thursdays can be hard too. Today's been a productive day, though. I did my Easter bunny duties and bought some stuff for the boy, and ordered my hubby's birthday present. :) Have a great rest of the week!
