Look who stopped by The Bird's Nest this morning-
Isn't he gorgeous? My daughter Faith snapped this picture for me because I can't stay still enough to take great shots like this. And on that note, I only have time for a quickie post today- but I wanted to:
(1) Say thank you for all of the awesome comments on my last two posts. I am very humbled and thankful for each and every one of you. Those comments meant the world to me. Thanks!
(2) Tell you up front, right now, I'm nervous. This girl just signed up for the A-Z challenge (for the first time ever) Last year, I really wanted to but at the last minute I punked out. I let fear stop me. Reading all the A-Z blog posts made me feel like a little kid looking out the window at all the older, much cooler kids, playing outside. I don't want to be that scared little kid anymore. So I took the plunge. God willing, I will be well enough in the month of April to complete the challenge. *Fingers Crossed*
Anyone else worried about the A-Z Challenge? Have any of you seen any beautys like this pretty bird lately? Have a great day everyone-
Beautiful picture! And I just signed up for A to Z as well. We'll go crazy together. :)
ReplyDeleteDid you pick a theme? I thought I had one picked, but then...I'm waffling on that too.
DeleteGreat pic!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, it's my first A to Z challenge too....I'm sure you'll do fine :)
Thanks Mark- we can blunder through together, right?
Deletehaha, sure thing! :)
DeleteLovely photo!
ReplyDeleteI read your last post, but couldn't really find any words to ... see? I'm still struggling now! But I am very glad you are still with us, and thank you for opening up about something so personal. <3
Yay for A-Z! I guess I should think about signing up soon!
Hey Kyra! Thanks, I really do appreciate that. I hope you do sign up- last year you did a great job with all of your diary entries. Although, I imagine that took quite a bit of work to pull off. Will you do that again?
DeleteI've signed up with my entertainment blog, but I'm still not sure about doing it on my writing blog because last year's went so well, I'm not sure how I could top it!
DeleteThat is such a beautiful photo!!
ReplyDeleteI'm out of A-Z this year because we'll be away for a good chunk of that time, but best of luck!!
Isn't that a great shot? I think the kid has talent. (Biased, prideful, bragging momma here again, LOL)
DeleteIt might be temp insanity to sign up for such a thing, but I don't want to sit it out again!
Do you know what sort of bird he is? Best of luck with the A-Z. I did it last year and it was brilliant fun and I made lots of friends, but this year I want to concentrate on writing and the more blogging I do, the less writing happens!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda- I'm thinking it's a baby cardinal? But I'm not entirely certain. You would think with a blog title like The Bird's Nest, I'd be a bit better at naming them. Ha.
DeleteWhat a cutie! Great pic!
ReplyDeleteYay for sigining up for the A-Z challenge. Feeling like a kid watching the older, cooler kids play outside was how I felt when I saw everyone doing the challenge. It's a lot of fun, and I hope you enjoy it. I can't wait to see what you come up with. Do you have anything in mind already?
I did, but now I'm not too sure. I might just have to play it fast and loose, like everything else in my life. I'm a pantser, through and through, LOL
DeleteGreat shot!
ReplyDeleteYou'll be fine. Just plan ahead. A theme helps. But the Challenge is a lot of fun and you'll make a bunch of new blogger buddies.
Thanks! And I sure hope your confidence in me will be warranted Alex!
DeleteSuch a great picture! And good luck with the A-Z Challenge. It's so much fun, and it really helps if you plan ahead. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Cherie. I am going to try my best.
DeleteFaith took that picture? What a great shot!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with A to Z! I love reading everyone's posts, but April is a crazy busy month for me so I doubt I'll ever do it. :( (Yeah, okay, I'm happy to have an excuse!) I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
Yeah. I feel like it's a huge time challenge, but I want to at least attempt it.
DeleteGotta love that kid- the picture she took is so clear. I didn't even know our camera had such a great zoom feature!
Hi there! Great pic, that bird is such a pretty fellow!
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be my third year for A-Z, and I'm not really nervous or worried, just excited! Since the Office of Letters and Light is doing a Camp Nanowrimo session in April, I figured I could do Camp A-Z, and spotlight cool things about the Camp Nano program or camp novelists every day. :)
That's a really great idea- killing two birds with one stone, so to speak, LOL
DeleteThanks so much for stopping by and commenting- Wishing you good luck in the challenge!!
nice cardinal
ReplyDeleteHey Adam- is it a cardinal? I thought so, but I wasn't entirely certain. Looks like a baby male, to me, would you agree with that?
DeleteThat's a beautiful bird. We don't have many of those around here since we have hawks. Well, my hawk buddy, anyhow.
ReplyDeleteI could never do A-Z. You're a very brave soul indeed. Good luck!
Or just a brazen idiot, lol.
DeleteWe have eagles and hawks here too. This dude was hiding in the bushes outside my house. The girls placed a wooden bird feeder outside the window that they painted and put together themselves, and I am always shocked at the beautiful birds that are attracted to that thing!
I did the A-Z challenge for the first time last year. I found it hard to reintegrate into May but apart from that it was fun. I'm doing it again this year with my other blog.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picture.
Hi Annalisa- you are coming back again to do it this year, so I guess it was all worth it in the end? I certainly hope that's how I feel at the end of the challenge this year!
DeleteHe is a beauty!
ReplyDeleteYou'll have loads of fun in the A-Z, I'm sure of it. I'm taking part for the second time this year. As long as you don't stress out about visiting every participant - it's scientifically impossible! Just go with the flow!
Thanks Nick. I appreciate all of the encouragement. Still tossing around themes too. That may help ease some of my discomfort, knowing what to write about.
DeleteLove the picture!
ReplyDeleteHave fun in the A to Z challenge! After having done the November daily thing, I have no desire, yet, to do it again, but I will happily read everyone's posts!
Thanks! I thought it was beautiful. The colors are so vibrant.
DeleteI understand why you wouldn't be thrilled just coming off of the November thing to jump into A-Z. Keep your fingers crossed for me, that I don't screw up too bad!! Thanks.
