Snow in my yard, coffee in my cup....

I keep trying to remind myself that hidden somewhere underneath that giant pile of snow, is our beautiful new pool. Although I'm really missing the sunshine and summer...I'm no where near ready to put on a bathing suit! Thinking on the bright side, all this snow is actually buying me some time. So I'll bury myself under lots of layers and drink way too much coffee to stay warm and stick it out until sunnier, happier, and hopefully much skinnier days are here again! (BTW, this is my favorite coffee mug, my Daddy bought it for me!)

So, I LIED....

I know I promised you all I would post a "short story" based on the decaying splendor of Carleton Manor recently, but I lied. I didn't mean to deceive you, I really, truly planned on writing a short story. Except...when I started to write the first few pages I realized I couldn't stop. As usual, I'm incapable of either telling or writing a short story.

When I started this project, I really did have every intention of throwing a quick couple of pages together and being done with it, since I'm in the middle of a lot of other super important work right now. (Like getting my "final" editing done on "Breaking Cardinale Rules" so I can send it out. Which, if I ever want to become a published author, is kind of, yeah, like crucial...!!) However, it became quite clear to me after the first few pages, I wasn't anywhere near done. So, I decided, ok, I'll just make it into a novella. Good idea, right? But...after it became a novella, I realized I still wasn't done. I had to face the truth. And the truth of the matter is I no longer had a short story or novella on my hands, I had a full blown novel.

Don't hate on me, ok? It's just that I fell in LOVE with these characters and didn't want to stop hanging out with them. Please understand that if I don't tell their story, they will haunt my thoughts and consume my mind every single day until I do.So, please excuse me for being a crazy girl with fictitious people and plots in my head that rule my life until I fully release them onto paper... and watch closely for the first chapter of "The Manor" to be posted in the very near future...

Quick Question for You All

Is it possible to sweat coffee? I drank so much of it today I felt like it was oozing out of my pores! I started sweating profusely, (which never happens unless I am kick-boxing because I am ALWAYS freezing cold) I swear my sweat even smelled like a giant cup of java! I seriously, have a P-R-O-B-L-E-M with drinking too much coffee. I never know when to stop. I think I need an intervention. If I stop drinking coffee, my local Starbucks would definitely go under, and how could I live with that on my conscience? LOL

HELP- I need to plan a "Disco Dance Party" for my kid's Birthday Party!!

Hey- I am panicking and not too sure where to start in planning this party. Well, other than I've been told "I must have a Disco Ball". My daughter really loves to dance and would really like this party to be like a wedding reception with all kinds of her favorite dance music and organized dances like the Electric Slide, Macarena, etc. She is going to be 7, so nothing that would be too mature or that would have inappropriate lyrics would apply here.

Please, please, please, leave any ideas/suggestions you may have. Planning this kind of thing is not my strong suit, at all. And of course, I'm on a budget, so that will have to factor in here as well. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!!
