A-Z Challenge X is for X-Men

A-Z Challenge letter of the day: is X. And you thought I would be done posting about Wolverine yesterday...he he he. Not a chance. Although, today I'm taking it back on the serious side of things. Like, if  you could be any of the X-men who would it be and why?  LOL, see, real serious...

I would have to be Jean Grey for two reasons. (1) Not only does she have freaking amazing mind powers and can turn into The Phoenix, but (2) she is the object of Wolverine's affection. If  I were Jean Grey, I'd drop that little bitch Cyclops for Wolverine in a Hot Second!

I really enjoyed all the X-men movies but Wolverine Origins is my favorite thus far (big surprise, right). What is surprising is just  how much I enjoyed First Class, even though Wolverine only makes a brief  (all be it brilliant) cameo in it.

I am beyond stoked about The Wolverine coming out in July. The Japanese story line is just so gripping in the comic books, I can't wait to see it play out on film. Of course, stills like this really help inspire me to want to see this movie more times than I can count. Da-yamn! Who wants to come with me?  ~Jaybird

  2. I know, like, nothing about the X-Men. (Have I just horrified you? Heh...)

    1. No- my sister thinks I'm a lunatic. Like total, total, lunatic when it comes to X-men. But she gets the whole reasons why I love Hugh Jackman- That's an easy one to figure out!

  3. OK, I have to be honest, X-Men is not exactly my cup of tea (can we still be friends?), but I might have to go see that Wolverine Movie because Hugh Jackman is!

    1. OF COURSE! Like I said to Heather above, my own sister thinks I'm a nut job for loving the X-men so much. And if you come back to the states, I might just have to drag you along with me to that movie! LOL

  4. Ha! "Drop that little bitch Cyclops."

I agree! That being said, Cyclops is a handsome man :)

Maybe I'd be Storm? Wouldn't want to mess with her!

    1. Hi Sam! Although I agree James Marden is a good looking guy, and plays a great Cyclops, there's no comparison when it comes to Wolverine. (In my crazy eyes) LOL

Storm is a good one to pick. She's totally rad.

  5. I'm crazy excited too. And that still stopped my heart, seriously. Damn I wish I could go with you but me being in Jamaica...yeah. Wolverine is the coolest. Cy...who? Jean Grey is a good choice. I really like Rogue but with the touch issue...I have to go with Mystique and sneak a little one on one with Wolverine.

Heather horrified me and Alex is being a smart ass. But a cool one. And Samantha's comment is my fave.

    1. I knew I loved you Sheena! YAY!! Another Wolverine fan. Too bad you don't live close :(

Oh, The Husband is a big Mystique fan. Not hard to figure out why.... I also thought Jennifer Lawrence did an amazing job playing her in First Class.

  7. I really liked First Class as well, and of course can't wait for the movie this summer. I'd love to be invisible, because then I wouldn't have to shave and could be naked all the time. Who needs clothes? :)

    1. Ha ha ha. You would make a great Mystique. She is blue, but naked. All the time. She can turn into whoever she wants to be, someone with perfect, long shaved legs, check...

  8. I loved the first Wolverine movie until about halfway through then I just couldn't like it. Maybe because I'm such a comic fan. The new one does look great though.

    1. Hi Brandon- I really hope they keep the story as good as the comic and stick to that for this adaptation.

I have a little confession to make. Sometimes I get so distracted by the eye candy, I can overlook a few flaws in plot...LOL

Here's hoping they nail this one!

  9. Great choice and I figured you'd try to sneak in your favorite, claw wielding, hero in here somewhere.

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping the next Wolvie movie is good. The last one was 'so-so' for me...I enjoyed "First Class" much better.

    Have a great weekend :)

    1. Hi Mark. HAD to be done. I think I've held back pretty well in this challenge so far. I only posted about Wolverine 2x. I could have easily made every post all about him. Hmmm, maybe I just hit on what to use for next years theme. HA. Ha. HA.

Hope you have a great weekend too. :)

    1. Hey Jeff! Yes, Storm is an amazing beauty. I have to admit to missing her long hair though. I kind of loved the whole effect of Storm's crazy hair flying all around her face while she induced a tornado. (Like it does in the comic books) How does one manage to keep such perfect hair in a Storm? Guess that's the difference between a girl and a guy watching the film, I'm staring at her hair. I'll bet, you're not. Ha!

    1. Erm, yes, I might have a thing. But don't worry, my stalkerish ways aren't anywhere close to electric razor throwing proportions. LOL

  12. His little cameo in First Class was hilarious. But if you blink, you'll miss it.

The trailer for The Wolverine looks awesome. Can't wait to see it.

    1. Jay- when I watched First Class in the movies I drank a large soda and had to pee, bad. I was so happy I held it until after this scene, otherwise I would have missed it. I laughed so hard. It was a perfectly written Wolverine scene.

    1. Hi Krista! I'm not sure either but I have high hopes. The still looks amazing and I know HJ always works really hard at putting his all into becoming Wolverine. Some say he's getting too old to play the part, I, obviously, am not one of them. Nor will I ever be. He will always be the perfect person to play Wolverine, to me.

  15. Okay, I don't know who I would be, because I don't remember all that much about XMen from my brother's obsessive days when we were kids. But, wow, that picture makes me want to see the new movie, too!
